Murphy's Dáil microphone turned off after raising 'political policing' issue
Anti Austerity Alliance TD Paul Murphy has tried to raise his claims of "political policing" in the Dáil.
It follows the arrest of the Dublin South West TD and 11 others over the past three days in connection with the water charges protest in Jobstown last November.
Deputy Murphy tried to raise the arrests before his microphone was turned off and he was ruled out of order by the Ceann Comhairle.

Sinead O'Connor : OPEN LETTER TO THE IRISH GOVERNMENT/STATE REGARDING REVOLUTION
Dear Sirs and Madames
As we sit on the cusp of the centenary of The 1916 Rising a revolution is headed your way like an inevitable slow train coming.
You’ve sensed this for some time.
This is why you have lately set about cravenly discrediting those who fought and died in 1916 so that we might have an Ireland wherein we could be honoured as we deserve to be.
We never had that Ireland and we want it now.
Ultimately its going be your choice as to whether this is a violent or non-violent revolution.
I support the latter wholeheartedly and will do what I can to encourage others to support it.
I give you a warning however and I hope you take heed.
The Irish people are not as afraid as you’ve been banking on (excuse the pun).
IF YOU WANT THIS REVOLUTION TO BE NON-VIOLENT DO NOT FORCE THE PEOPLE TO ARM THEMSELVES BY MEETING THEIR NON-VIOLENCE WITH VIOLENCE.
THE VIOLENCE WITH WHICH YOU HAVE MET THE PEOPLE WILL ONLY INSPIRE VIOLENCE.
When we do come to take our country back, you’d be advised to step down and hand over peacefully.
We will declare the First Republic of Ireland a failure and establish the Second Republic of Ireland, by any means necessary.
I refer you to paragraphs two and three of the Declaration Of The First Republic (below) in order to spell out for you exactly on which points that Republic has failed and continues to fail.
In short, we didn’t sign up for what you’re peddling.
And we deserve better.

We need irish water abolished immediately and that money put into ways of improving our water supply and other essential services to bring our standard of life up somewhat . Like into our health service which is a shambles . there isnt enough beds in our hospitals . People left for over a year in some cases years for operations . Innocent people who have paid there taxes and are paying for a debt we never asked for left to die while there families watch on helplessly . These shower of pricks and their friends need to be brought to justice and a new governent elected in by the people FOR the people

Following the disgraceful attack with untruths spread by the Denis O`Brien media empire about ordinary citizens peacefully protesting against water meter installation in North Dublin. Audrey Clancy (Dublin says no) responds to this attempt by the Government and O`Briens Media to blackened the name of protesters who have Successfully put this Government on the ropes.

It's time to organise, people
It's time to organise, people. A big change is coming, and I duno about you, but I want the party system GONE. Goverment out of Dublin and back where we can see them, and we'll kick IW while we're at it. Get ready NOW. Who's with me? Stand Up Now!
Communicate.
This government has all but declared war on the people of Ireland. This government does not act in a way beneficial to its citizens. We must now cease to support the current state of affairs. It is the only way forward.
Object to the impositions of this government. Talk to each other. Use your voice as a community to determine the political direction you, as a community, wish to take. Organise yourselves. Focus local action on local issues. Insist on the attendance and participation of politicians. Make your elected representatives – those people for whom you have ensured employment – responsible and accountable. Put enough pressure on the individuals and the cracks will appear in the government façade. Divide them as they continue to fail to divide us. Use your politicians as a platform, all the while denying them the use of a platform. Make them serve.
Communicate effectively and focus activity. Use your residents committees, your parish halls and your community groups. Talk. The ability to foster and maintain a community’s political identity will force, through communal power, real participation in decision making. Focus your political identity as a community on issues you feel need to be addressed. Whatever your road or street or estate, whatever your village or hinterland or town or suburb, turn it together into a community with a clear political will and vision.
Years of austerity budgets have eroded our communities. The programme of austerity that was introduced to pay for a mess not of our making has not just been oppressive, it's been divisive, turning worker against worker and neighbour against neighbour. The government have learned to keep us apart, but now, as a nation we must stand together. We should thank Irish Water for focusing our anger. We should thank Irish Water for giving us this chance to unite. Through the establishment of Irish Water, this government has made the mistake of allowing us an opportunity to organise as a nation. It will never happen again. As sole owners of the nation, we the people of Ireland have a duty to protect our country from this government and this attack. Use Irish Water as the first stone you throw back.Organise.
Politicise.
Together you will turn these first few raindrops of protest into a storm of resistance and you will win.
